I have over 40 years of teaching experience in private studio instruction and 25 years of University classroom, ensemble, and  private instruction. I only teach virtually (zoom, FaceTime and Skype) at this point and have found it to be every bit as effective as in person lessons . The only issues are with the internet connection.

Teaching genres

Classical - all periods  Medeivel to Modern. 

Jazz and Jazz guitar arranging.

Rock and most of the sub-genres.

Fingerstyle - everything from the most contemporary styles to Celtic, blues, folk, acoustic rock and most other acoustic guitar offerings. 

Open tunings.

Altered tunings - these are different from open tunings and have countless permutations.

Performance and practice techniques for any style. 

Composition and arranging for the guitar are among my specialites. Harmonic theory, melody and rhythm along with the vast options for voice leading and chord voicings are all part of the instruction format. 

I am very flexible when it comes to repertoire. I encourage students to select specific pieces that they want to work on and/or work toward.

Venmo is the preferred transfer. 

I currently have two students who have been with me for over 22 years and a handful for over 15 years and some for 7-5 - most  of these are weekly lessons. However, I am flexible when it comes to lesson-frequency - every week or once a month is fine.
